Kid overboard

Kate is my niece. I take her and her brother Lindon trick or treating every year except last when they moved up to Virginia with the rest of the family. A grownup was usually in charge of each kid when they went into the ocean. The first wave that hit I held tight to the board but forgot that the kid could come off. I didn't lose her but after that I had a firm hold on her arm too. My sister would KILL me if I lost her kid.

hahaha. I've totally done that with my little cousins. One minute everything's fine, the next you're like "oh, crap...where'd you go? Come back! You're mom will eat my head!!!"

Jennie, my heart skipped a beat when I read today's strip. I *was* that kid when I was a wee thing; very nearly drowned too.

I'm not criticizing you, just saying that the storyline can resonate differently for readers.

Yikes! And you completely changed topic on the following day/strip, leaving us hanging...don't do that again, ever! especially when someone's *life* is in the balance! You've sort of implied that the kid was found quickly and safe, but you have to play it more broadly for the stage -- winks and nods won't do!

I think the mere fact that she was/is still in a shape to draw and post comics implies that it worked out ok.
